Rost Machining & Fabrication (RMF) was founded out of necessity. Our owner and lead machinist, John Rost, began welding and machining automotive parts while running the collision repair shop - German Auto Body - in Santa Clara, California, John frequently faced delays and backorders on the specialized tools, fixtures, and parts needed to complete his customers’ projects. Unwilling to make clients wait, he carved out a corner of the shop and began manufacturing the tools himself after hours.
What started as a practical solution soon grew into a passion for precision engineering.
Today, RMF operates from its own headquarters in Gilroy, California. Equipped with advanced machinery and an ever-expanding inventory, Rost Machining & Fabrication has become the locally owned and operated machine shop you can count on.
